You know, it doesn't take long to realize why Grant and Jason are the gold standard for Paranormal researchers! This book about TAPS cases is told in Grants' unique, calm and matter of fact voice that we know so well from GH. It is also a very good read.
It has sections that are basically case studies that happened pre-Ghost Hunters. There are some extremely interesting and sometimes challenging cases and the findings are presented on each. The really great thing is that almost every chapter is post scripted with investigation tips and insight into various issues that are bound to come up at times on our own investigations, such as animals in walls, clients with drug or chemical dependencies, child abuse, and yes...the paranormal.
Grant even reveals the rather unique experience he had as a young man that so profoundly moved him to begin his career as a Paranormal Researcher. Sorry no spoilers! For those of us die hard Ghost Hunters fans, we know that this was an intensely personal experience for him and his sharing it will give the reader a lot better understanding of his passion for the truth in matters paranormal.
As always I love that our OPS group follows the TAPS protocol of Debunking before leaping. That you try to disprove first, then find out if any of the information that remains is actually unexplainable... That going into an investigation looking for a haunting invariably leads to corrupt data that invalidates the research.
I am also pleased to note that we already use many of the tips illustrated in the book on our own OPS investigations! Such as, teaming up, putting KII's with a camera and digi-recorder and keeping each other informed of personal experiences as they happen so that verification can be done immediately or have it documented with equipment while it is happening!
This book is a must for anyone interested in investigations and Taps as well.
